The 2016 NAIA Division II National Player of the Year, Hengesbach joins Benedictine for the 2018-19 season following two seasons on the staff at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill. St. Francis was one of the top programs in the nation during her tenure, reaching the quarterfinals of the NAIA Tournament in 2018 after advancing to the Final Four in 2017. St. Francis racked up over 50 wins in two seasons including a 34-2 campaign in 2016-17. Hengesbach worked with four All-Americans, five all-conference players and six NAIA Scholar Athletes over the two year period.
The Westphalia, Mich. native brings highly decorated experience as a player as well, spanning four years at Concordia University Ann Arbor and Olivet Nazarene University. Hengesbach averaged 22.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 3.4 steals during her national player of the year season in 2016. A three-time All-American (2013, 2015, 2016), Hengesbach scored over 2,400 points during her career.
