Karen Senette

Karen Senette joins the Benedictine University women’s basketball coaching staff for the 2014-2015 season. She brings a large amount of experience, both as a coach and a player, which will surely enhance the women’s basketball program.

An Alaska native, Senette comes to BenU after graduating from Elmhurst College in the Spring. As a member of the women’s basketball team, Senette was a two-year captain and two-time All-CCIW Third Team selection. She was the Elmhurst College Blue Jay Award winner in 2012, and after averaging 10.2 points and a team-high 3.7 assists per game in 2014, she was named Team MVP. Prior to her time at Elmhurst, Senette attended Judson University. There, she was a team captain and conference Player of the Week in 2011.

Throughout her college career, Senette balanced her class load and time on the court with various coaching duties. For the past year, Senette has served as an assistant for many levels of the Illinois Lady Lightning AAU Program in Wheaton, Illinois, where she installed different offensive and defensive concepts, planned practices, and oversaw game and practice scheduling.

In the past, Senette also coached at different camps, such as Doug Bruno Basketball Camps in Naperville, Northwest Basketball Camps in Palmer, Alaska, and the Judson Universty Summer Basketball Camp. While in Alaska, Senette coached for Soldotna Middle School.

Senette graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in psychology and currently resides in Chicago.
