Lindsay Medlen enters her second season as assistant coach for the Eagles in 2022-23. Medlen joined the program for head coach Oliver Wiseman’s first season at the helm. Medlen primarily works with the guards and coached Hana Piro to finish seventh in the NACC in assists per game (3.0) and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3). Medlen coordinates team travel, academic progress, and assists with practice and game plan preparation.
Medlen came to Benedictine from William Woods University, where she served as a graduate assistant. At William Woods, Medlen coached Natalie Thomas to the All-American Midwest Conference Second Team as well as the All-Freshman Team. She also recruited Sydney Booker, who was named the conference’s Freshman of the Year in 2021-22.
The Crocker, Missouri native was a four-year starter at Lindenwood University (2016-20) where she holds the program’s record for single-season and career assists. Medlen accumulated over 1,000 points in her career and led the Lions to their first ever MIAA Tournament Championship, as well as their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017-18. Medlen joined a Lions program that had gone 8-21 prior to her arrival.  At the conclusion of her senior season, the Lions had gone to three straight NCAA Tournaments and had broken into the WBCA Top 25 rankings multiple times. Medlen capped off her career by earning All-GLVC honors her senior year while also earning Academic All-Conference honors.
