Maxine Najera enters her second season on the Eagles’ coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach.
The Riverside, California native played at the Junior College and Division II levels before transferring to Eureka College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. In her senior year, Najera was a team captain, started all 25 games, and averaged 10.6 points and 7 rebounds per game- earning all-conference honors and helping Eureka to its most single-season wins since the 2017-18 season.
Najera joined the staff at Benedictine with some coaching experience already under her belt, having coached for Damand ProSkills International, an AAU program in California. At Benedictine, Coach Max manages all areas of team travel & academic progress, while also assisting with opponent scouting and high school recruiting. She is charged with the development of the guards for the squad.
