NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Benedictine University had its two-game win streak halted with a 71-61 non-conference loss at North Central College on Tuesday evening. The loss dropped the Eagles to 2-2 on the year.
The Cardinals led at the intermission, 37-32, and the Eagles got no closer in the second half. NCC connected on 19-of-22 free throws, compared to 6-of-14,
Junior Karyn Conerty's 13 points led a quartet of BU players in double-digit scoring. Conerty hit 5-of-10 from the field, while also giving four assists and making three steals.
Sophomore Tracey Walsh and senior Monika Krozel had 12 points apiece. Junior Jenn Bren chipped in 10 points. Bren and Krozel each had seven rebounds, while Walsh pulled down six boards.
Lidia Arias had a game-leading five assists and one blocked shot.
