KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Benedictine University softball team split a pair of contests in Florida on Wednesday, blanking St. Francis (Ind.) 4-0 but falling to the College of Mount St. Joseph 10-1. The Eagles are now 5-1 on the season.
Brittany Adcox (Plainfield, Ill.) allowed just one hit in six innings of work, striking out nine in the circle to notch her third win of the season.
Lisa Rybak (Midlothian, Ill.) came in to pitch the seventh and recorded a strikeout. Adcox helped her own cause with a two-run double.
Brittany Wolski (Orland Park, Ill.) recorded a pair of stolen bases and was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
In the loss to Mount St. Joseph,
Sam Corban (Plainfield, Ill.) drove in the lone run. Corban was 2-for-3 at the plate.
Brittney Carnell (Elburn, Ill.),
Kaitlin Walsh (Schaumburg, Ill.), and
Lisa Rybak, all pitched in the game with Carnell taking the loss.
Benedictine plays two games on Thursday, facing the United States Merchant Marine Academy and Simpson College.
