CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Benedictine University baseball team used 21 different players in a 9-1 non-conference loss at the University of Chicago on Wednesday evening.

Nick Karakosta led off the contest with a double. He moved to third on a ground out and crossed the plate on a
Josh Zenawick sacrifice fly. The first inning tally would be the lone run allowed by Chicago starter Joe Pankow. Pankow pitched a complete game and allowed just three hits.
Chicago tied the game in the third inning and took a 2-1 advantage on a Zach Osman RBI single in the sixth. Benedictine starter
Matt Vucovich made his first collegiate start and tossed six innings but was hit with the hard luck loss. Vucovich allowed just two runs on five hits with four walks and a pair of strikeouts.
The Maroons accounted for the final score with two runs in the seventh and a five-spot in the eighth.
