SHEBOYGAN, Wis. -- The Benedictine University softball team extended its winning streak to 20 with a pair of road wins at Lakeland College on Monday.

BENEDICTINE 2, LAKELAND 1 -- Game One (10 Innings)
Brittany Adcox struck out 11 batters, matching her second best total of the season, and allowed just one run but for the third straight contest, Benedictine needed extra innings to keep its win streak alive.

The Eagles opened the scoring in the top of the sixth inning. After being limited to just two hits in the first five frames, Benedictine strung together three in the inning. Aimee Mahoney and Laura Christensen posted consecutive one-out singles and Kara Walsh drove in the first run with a two-out single up the middle. Lakeland answered in the bottom of the inning as reigning NAC Player of the Year KC Blahnik led off with a double and scored on a single down the line in left by Jenny LaLuzerne.

Adcox worked out of a bases loaded situation in the bottom of the seventh with only one out and again in the ninth when the winning run was forced out at the plate, setting the stage for Benedictine to finally break through in the 10th. Steff Rybarczyk led off the inning with a single and was replaced on the bases by Mahoney following a fielder's choice. Christensen was able to reach on a bunt single with one away and a wild pitch put the go-ahead run at third with one out. Brittany Wolski broke the deadlock with a sacrifice fly to center to put Benedictine in front.

Laura Christensen and Steff Rybarczyk had two hits each to lead a nine-hit offense.

BENEDICTINE 8, LAKELAND 4 -- Game Two
The Eagles wasted little time in jumping ahead in game two, chasing Lakeland's starter Alyssa Nelson, who was making her first appearance of the season, after just one inning. Benedictine scored seven runs in the first three innings of the contest.

The big blow in a four-run first was a two-run homer off the bat of Erin Galloway, her third of the season. Kara Walsh singled home a run in the inning while Cassie Cappetto contributed an RBI double. Lakeland clawed back with a pair in the bottom of the inning.

Benedictine posted an unearned run in the second and tacked on three in the third to go up 7-2. Aimee Mahoney recorded a two-out two-run single in the third. Lakeland countered with a run in the bottom of the inning. The Eagles finished their scoring tally by posting a double steal in the sixth.

Lakeland was able to bring the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the sixth. Leading 8-4, Lisa Rybak entered the pitching circle for Benedictine with the bases loaded and two outs and induced a fielder's choice to end the inning.

Sam Corban improved to 8-0 by throwing 5.2 innings. She struck out a season high seven strikeouts. Each team put up 11 hits. Five different players posted two each for the Eagles.

The Eagles (29-4, 18-0) will meet Aurora University on the road Wednesday afternoon. Aurora has been beaten just once in NAC play and is directly behind Benedictine in the standings.
