ORLANDO, Fla. - The Benedictine University softball team jumped to 4-0 on the season with two more wins on their spring break trip on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles defeated Kalamazoo College 12-0 and then beat Buena Vista University 6-4 in extra innings.
Against Kalamazoo,
Sam Corban pitched a perfect game with six strikeouts, not allowing a single hit in five innings.
Kara Walsh was 4-4 with two runs scored, two RBI and three stolen bases.
Brittany Wolski was 3-3 with three runs scored, three RBI and three stolen bases while
Cassie Cappetto was 2-3 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base.
In the second game of the day,
Brittany Adcox picked up the win, her second of the year. The Eagles were down 2-0 heading into the sixth inning but tied the game to force extra innings. Walsh had the game-winning hit, driving in two runs.
Cappetta was 2-3 with a double and Adcox was 2-4 with three RBI, a double and a stolen base. Wolski had another great outing, going 3-4 with a run scored and one stolen base.
The Eagles are back in action on Monday night when they take on Grinnell College and Allegheny College at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
