LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University softball team remained perfect in Northern Athletics Conference action after sweeping Marian University with back-to-back 8-0 wins on Saturday afternoon at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.

The Ealges (26-4, 14-0) scored three runs in the first two innings off of three hits from Brittany Wolski, Cassie Cappetto and Kelly Mieszala.

In the third, BenU added another run on a Sam Corban double which drove in Cappetto who singled to lead off the inning. The offensive domination continued in the fourth when Brittany Adcox tripled to right field, scoring Wolski. Kara Walsh also drove in a run with a single to center field and Cappetto drove in the final run of the inning to give BenU a 7-0 lead.

The Eagles secured their victory in the fifth when Mieszala had an RBI-single to win the game 8-0 after five innings.

Adcox received her 16th win of the year allowing just one hit in five innings. At the plate, Wolski was 2-3 with two runs and Cappetto was 3-3 with two RBI. Mieszala had two hits with two RBI.

In game two, the Eagles used a 6-run second inning to take an early lead. Corban led off with a single to center field followed by a two-RBI double from Wolski. Later in the inning, Adcox singled to drive in a run while Cappetto tallied her second double of the day to give BenU the 7-0 lead.

After going scoreless in the third, the Eagles tallied the game winning run in the fourth on an RBI-double from Adcox, scoring Mieszala who doubled to left field.

Sam Corban picked up the win, 10th of the season, giving up just two hits with three strikeouts.

Adcox was a perfect 3-3 with two runs and two RBI while Laura Christensen and Mieszala were 1-2.

The Eagles are back in action on Monday afternoon when they host Lakeland College at 3:00 p.m. at the Sports Complex.
