GAME 1 | GAME 2

MEQUON, Wis. – The Benedictine University softball team suffered their first Northern Athletics Conference loss of the season on Friday afternoon, splitting with Concordia University-Wisconsin. The Eagles dropped the first game 1-0 but came back to win game two, 9-2.

The Eagles (27-5, 15-1 NAC) left nine runners on base in game one, including one in the bottom of the seventh that would have tied the game.

Concordia-Wisconsin (24-7, 15-3 NAC) scored the lone run in the second inning off of one hit and one BenU error. The Eagles could not answer back as they dropped their first NAC game of the season, 1-0.

Adcox received the loss, giving up just two hits and zero earned runs with five strikeouts. At the plate, Steff Rybarczyk was 2-3.

Benedictine came out swinging in game two, getting on the board early with a run in the first. The Eagles would add four more runs in the third inning when Laura Christensen led off with a single and then stole second. She was driven in by Kelly Mieszala. Brittany Wolski and Brittany Adcox singled to score a run and Kara Walsh doubled to score the fourth run of the inning.

Down 5-0, CUW chopped at their deficit in the bottom of the frame with two runs of their own. It would be the last time they scored as the Eagles went on to tally four more runs over the next four innings to take home the 9-2 victory.

Sam Corban received the win for BenU, allowing just one earned run with three strikeouts. At the plate, Wolski and Adcox were both 2-3 while Rybarczyk was 2-4. Christensen had three hits with two runs scored and an RBI.
