VERONA, Wis. - The Benedictine University softball team took two games from Edgewood College on Saturday afternoon, winning game one 6-0 before defeating EC 8-0 in the nightcap.
Brittany Adcox picked up the win for BenU (29-5, 17-1) in game one with just four hits allowed and five strikeouts. At the plate,
Cassie Cappetto was 2-3 with a double while
Steff Rybarczyk was 2-4 with a double.
Laura Christensen was 3-4 and
Kelly Mieszala was 2-4.
As a team, BenU had twelve hits and four stolen bases.
In game two,
Sam Corban allowed just two hits in the 8-0 shotout. The Eagles kept the offense alive, tallying nine hits as a team in just five innings including a 2-3 performance from
Brittany Wolski. Cappetto was 2-3 with two runs scored and three RBI, after homering in the fifth inning to put BenU up 8-0.
The Eagles are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Milwaukee School of Engineering at 4:00 p.m. at the Sports Complex.
