SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team had a 12-point lead at halftime after shooting 52.0 percent from the field. Lakeland College came from behind to out-score the Eagles in the second half to take home a 57-55 win.
The Eagles (7-14, 4-10 NAC) went up by as many as 19 in the first half, shooting 13-25 from the floor.
Despite taking a 32-20 lead at the half, the Eagles allowed Lakeland to go on an 11-0 run to come within four points. After exchanging buckets, a layup from LC's Leah Eisner tied the game. The Muskies took the lead and never looked back as they went on to win 57-55.
Megan Novak led all players with 16 points and also had six rebounds.
Katie Hunzinger tallied a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and
Michelle Gaede had 13 points and seven rebounds.
As a team, BenU out-rebounded the Muskies 45-31. Lakeland forced 22 Eagle turnovers on 15 steals.
The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday night when they host Concordia University-Chicago at 7:00 p.m. in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.
