CLERMONT, Fla. - After defeating Babson College 11-5 on Thursday morning, the Benedictine University softball team fell to Trinity College, 7-3, in the final day of their Spring Break Tour.
In game one, Babson took a 2-0 lead after scoring two runs in the first inning. The Ealges (4-6) answered right back with three runs of their own in the second inning. Babson pulled ahead with two more runs and BenU had a huge fourth inning, scoring four runs to take a 7-4 lead including a two-run single from
Brittany Adcox.
The Eagles also tallied three runs in the fourth and one run in the fifth to take home the 11-5 victory. Adcox received the win for BenU, allowing just seven hits and striking out five in 7.0 innings.
In the second game, Trinity scored six runs in the second inning to take a commanding lead and would score again in the third. The BenU offense would come alive in the third, tallying three runs but TC held the Eagles scoreless for the rest of the game, winning 7-3.
Nikki Powers tallied two hits for the Eagles while
Eryn Pondo allowed just two hits with four strikeouts in relief.
