RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Benedictine University softball team extended their win streak to six games with a Northern Athletics Conference sweep over Dominican University on Wednesday night.

Dominican (12-14, 5-5 NAC) gave the Eagles (16-8, 9-1 NAC) a scare in game one. Benedictine had a 3-2 lead going until the 7th inning but allowed the Stars to tie it up in the bottom of the frame. Both teams remained scoreless in the 8th inning but the BenU offense had a monster 9th inning, scoring 10 runs off of 10 hits to take home the 13-3 victory.

Eight Eagles had multi-hit games including Brittany Wolski who was 4-5 with three RBI while Kelly Mieszala was 3-5. Chelsea White was 2-4 with her first homerun of her career. Laura Christensen was 2-5 with two RBI.

On the mound, Brittany Adcox tallied her 10th win of the year, striking out eight batters.

In game two, the Eagles held Dominican scoreless until the sixth inning when they tallied their only two runs of the game. After taking a 1-0 lead after the first, Benedictine scored six runs in the fourth off of five hits including hits from White, Christensen, Mieszala and Wolski. The Eagles secured their victory with a run in the top of the 6th and 7th innings for the 9-2 win.

Eryn Pondo, who was just named the NAC Pitcher of the Week, received the win, allowing four hits with two strikeouts in 6.1 innings.

Benedictine takes a break from conference play when they host Elmhurst College at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Sports Complex. Watch the game live or follow our live stats by following this link http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/benu.portal#.
