MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Benedictine University softball team took two games from Milwaukee School of Engineering on Monday afternoon with a 9-1 win in game one and an 8-0 shutout in the nightcap.
The Eagles (9-7, 5-1 NAC) defeated the Raiders (2-14, 2-4 NAC) in five innings in both games. The first game saw
Brittany Adcox pick up the win, allowing just three hits with four strikeouts. At the plate, the senior pitcher helped her own cause, going 3-4 with two runs.
Kelly Mieszala was a perfect 4-4 with two RBI while
Kara Walsh and
Sarah Koch each had two hits.
BenU tallied eight of their nine runs in the first two innings, picking up the last run in the fifth.
In game two, the Eagles offensive domination continued as they tallied 11 hits in five innings. At the plate, four players had two hits including
Chelsea White,
Nikki Powers, Adcox and Mieszala.
Eryn Pondo received the win, allowing three hits and striking out five batters.
The Eagles move to 5-1 in Northern Athletics Conference action and will take a break from conference play to travel to Wheaton College for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
