BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Entering the NCAA Division III Softball Championships as the No. 7 seed in the Bloomington, Ill. Regional, the Benedictine University softball team dropped a 3-0 decision to the No. 2 seed, Linfield College, on Thursday afternoon at Illinois Wesleyan University.
Brittany Adcox and the Eagle defense held the defending national champions to two scoreless innings. The Wildcats then tallied three runs off of three hits in the third to take a 3-0 lead.
After the third, the game remained at a stand still. Benedictine threatened in the bottom of the seventh, but left two runners stranded as Linfield defeated the Eagles, 3-0.

Jess Fijolek tallied two hits while
Laura Christensen,
Brittany Wolski and
Sarah Koch each had a hit during the game.
Adcox allowed just five hits in 6.0 innings with three strikeouts.
The Eagles will play the No. 3 seed, Carthage College, on Friday, May 11 at 12:00 p.m.
