LISLE, Ill. - Concordia University Chicago scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to hand the Benedictine University baseball team a 2-1 defeat and end the season.
Benedictine opened the scoring in the top of the fifth inning.
Chris Wanderling singled with two outs.
Dan Zust reached on an error and a double steal allowed the Eagles to take a 1-0 lead when Wanderling crossed the plate.
Matt Vucovich started for Benedictine, throwing 7.1 innings. Vucpvich allowed just one earned run on three hits. Three different hurlers were unable to prevent Concordia Chicago from taking the lead in the bottom of the eighth. Robert Weis tied the game with an RBI single and Nick Skala put the Cougars in front with an RBI double.
Baseball closed the season 28-16.
