MILWAUKEE, Wis. -
Melissa Guzior allowed just four hits and had five strikeouts to help lead the Benedictine University softball team to a Northern Athletics Conference sweep of Alverno College on Saturday afternoon.
Benedictine (10-10, 6-2 NAC) tallied three runs in the third and four in the sixth for the 7-1 first game victory. Along with Guzior's performance,
Sarah Koch,
Nikki Powers and
Kelly Mieszala each had two hits.
In the second game, the Eagles once again took an early lead in the third with two runs.
Kelly Loy pitched six innings, allowing just four hits with four strikeouts.
Chelsea White was 3-4 with three RBI and three runs scored, including her first homerun of the season.
To lead off the fourth,
Melissa Stoch had her first homerun of her career. Later in the game,
Kailee Cable had a two-RBI homerun in the sixth while
Alex Daviera had a solo homerun in the seventh to give BenU the 9-5 win over Alverno (10-8, 4-6 NAC).
The Eagles are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Rockford College starting at 12:00 pm at the Sports Complex.
