Tim Hendricks recorded an RBI single in the inning along with John Cervantes. Ryan Mullin knocked home a run with a sacrifice fly and Mike Luschen finished the rally with an RBI double.

Benedictine went on to add single runs in the seventh on a Tom Higgins sacrifice fly, and in the eighth on a Kevin Hendricks two-bagger. The ninth became interesting as Dominican scored two runs, but Spencer Lehmann was able to close out the game for his third save. The Eagles laced 14 hits in the opener, led by three each from Tim Hendricks and John Cervantes. Eight different individuals collected hits.

Cocat sparked a rally in the third inning as Benedictine grabbed the lead. The senior led off with a double and scored on an RBI single from Cervantes. The go ahead run crossed on an error. Dominican tied the game in the bottom of the inning against Benedictine starter Chris Jordan.

Two runs came across in the fifth inning, allowing Benedictine to start to take control. Tim Hendricks led off with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly from Karakosta. With two outs Cervantes doubled and came across when Mullin singled.

The game really broke open with a five-run seventh, allowing the Eagles to take a 9-2 lead. Runs scored in the frame on a sacrifice fly from Higgins, an RBI triple from Cocat, an RBI single from Mike Loni, and a two-run double off the bat of Karakosta, who leads the conference in doubles and RBIs. The final margin was accounted for with a three-run ninth.

Jordan threw seven innings and allowed just two earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts to earn the win. Cristian Ochoa and Lehmann each threw an inning out of the pen to complete the victory.
