Softball Moves to 10-2 in NAC Play

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Benedictine University softball team moved to 10-2 in Northern Athletics Conference action with a sweep of Wisconsin Lutheran College on Monday afternoon.
 
Melissa Guzior picked up her eighth win of the year in game one, striking out six batters and allowing just four hits.
 
At the plate, Kailee Cable was 2-3 with two runs scored and Melissa Stoch had two hits and an RBI. Kelly Mieszala was 3-3 with two runs scored.
 
It was Wisconsin Lutheran (9-9, 3-5 NAC) who got on the board early in the second game, taking a 1-0 advantage in the first. The Eagles quickly tied it in the bottom of the frame and took the lead in the third inning tallying two more runs off of four hits.
 
In the fifth, Cable added three more runs when she had a three-run homer to left center field.
 
Benedictine scored eight runs in the seventh inning off of four hits and three WLC errors to take home the 14-5 win.
 
Kelly Loy recorded her fifth win of the year, while Erin Kotlarz was 4-5 with four runs scored. Cable had three hits and six RBI. Alex Daviera had two hits and one RBI and one run.
 
The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Concordia University-Chicago for a 3:00 pm doubleheader.
