Amanda Straka and
Chelsea White both homered as the Benedictine University softball team swept Edgewood College on Saturday afternoon.
Melissa Guzior recorded her 10th win of the season, allowing just four hits with three strikeouts in seven innings.
After trailing 1-0, BenU (19-11, 15-13 NAC) scored three runs in the fifth inning, one in the sixth and two more in the seventh to secure the 6-1 victory.
Chelsea White was 3-3 with one RBI while
Erin Kotlarz tallied two hits with a run scored. Straka had three hits in the game.
In the nightcap, both teams were tied at two after one inning. Benedictine took the 3-2 lead in the third and secured the advantage scoring a run in the fourth and two in the sixth for the 6-2 win.
Ashley Parrott received the win tallying five strikeouts.
White was 2-3 with three runs and her second homerun of the year while both
Kailee Cable and
Stephanie Ruvalcaba tallied two hits. Straka had three hits with an RBI and one run scored.
Benedictine softball is back in action on Monday, April 22 when they host Dominican University at 4:00 pm at the Sports Complex.
