Box Score The Benedictine men's lacrosse team was unable to overcome a sluggish second quarter on Wednesday night, falling to Midwest Lacrosse Conference for Augustana by a score of 16-6 at the Sports Complex.
After the Eagles trailed just 4-3 after the first quarter, the Vikings went on to outscore the Eagles 7-1 in the second and 4-0 in the third. Augustana outshot Benedictine 49-25 in the contest.
For the Eagles,
Tyler Buschow led the team with two goals, while
Robert Abbott,
Connor Mersch,
Andrew Zmijewski, and Theodore Jones each added a goal apiece.
Zachary MacLachlan tallied two assists. Abbott was also 17-for-25 on faceoffs on the night.
Next up for Benedictine (6-9, 4-5) is the final game of the season: a 3:00 p.m. contest on Saturday at home against Hanover College.
