MEQUON, Wis. - Benedictine University took one game of a doubleheader from Concordia University-Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles won the first game 7-2 but fell 10-1 in the nightcap.
After two scoreless innings, Benedictine (8-10, 4-2 NAC) took a 3-0 lead in the third inning on a
Kailee Cable two-RBI double. The Eagles scored two more runs in the next three innings. Concordia-Wisconsin (9-11, 3-3 NAC) got on the board in the sixth and seventh innings but it wasn't enough as the Eagles went on to win 9-7.
Cable had two hits and three RBI on the day while
Alex Daviera and
Kelly Mieszala each tallied hits.
Melissa Guzior picked up her fifth win of the year.
Despite BenU getting on the board first in the second game, the Falcons regained the lead in the second inning scoring two runs. They would go on to score eight more runs in the next two innings. The Eagles tallied five hits in the game but it wasn't enough as they dropped a 10-1 decision.
Chelsea White, Mieszala and
Stephanie Ruvalcaba each tallied one hit while
Sarah Koch was 2-2.
The Eagles are back in action on Monday afternoon when they travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
