WHITEWATER, WIs. - The Benedictine University baseball team saw a record setting season come to a close with a 10-1 loss to the second ranked team in the nation, St. Thomas, on Thursday afternoon.
St. Thomas opened the scorign with three second inning runs to chase Benedictine starter
Kevin Crowley. The Tommies continued to pour it on, scoring six runs against Northern Athletics Conference Pitcher of the Year
Chris Jordan.
The lone Benedictine run scored unearned in the bottom of the ninth on a
Kevin Hendricks groundout. Colin Wendinger kept Benedictine at bay, throwing six shutout innings in the win for St. Thomas (34-6).
John Cervantes was the lone player to record more than one hit, finishing 2-for-4.
Benedictine (32-12) ended the season by matching the school record for victories.
