LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team suffered a 76-69 loss to MSOE on Wednesday night.
Benedictine scored the first five points of the game and was able to lead until a 7-0 run by MSOE put the visitors ahead 17-14 with 12:15 to play in the opening half. The Eagles did not lead again in the half. MSOE jumped ahead by seven points with 4:42 remaining in the half but held just a 30-29 lead at the break. MSOE did not visit the free throw line in the half but shot 48.3 percent from the field in the frame.
Michelle Gaede had a strong showing off the bench. Gaede hit a jumper with 15:24 left in the game to even the score at 25-25.
Michelle Batty, who also came off the bench, hit a layup with 13:54 left to keep the game even at 39. Gaede nailed a jumper with 12:14 left to put Benedictine ahead. The bench scored 39 points in the contest. The Eagles led as late as 9:45 to go, but a 12-0 allowed MSOE to take control with 5:36 to play. Benedictine pulled no closer than three points the rest of the way.

Briana Hamilton adding 12. Hamilton was also a reserve in the game.
Vincenza Ranallo was the lone starter to reach double figures with 10 points. The teams combined for 48 turnovers. After not attempting a free throw in the first half, MSOE made 33 visits to the line in the second.
Benedictine (5-9, 5-4) will host Marian on Saturday night.
