The Benedictine University women's volleyball team fell to Edgewood College on Friday night in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action.
In the first set, the Eagles (7-19, 5-4 NACC) took an early 9-3 lead before allowing Edgewood (15-11, 6-2 NACC) to tie it at 15. Benedictine battled but Edgewood took the 25-18 win.
Edgewood took the lead in the second set, tallying 12 kills en route to a 25-11 win. Benedictine gained momentum in the third set when Abby Srenock tallied and ace and
Ashley Karsten had two kills to take an early lead. Eagle serve receive errors allowed Edgewood to climb back in and their offense came alive to secure the 25-17 win.
Erin Wiegand led the team with eight kills while Karsten had five kills.
Caitlyn Martin and
Andraia Leja both recorded eight digs and
Abby Screnock had 17 assists and four kills.
Benedictine hosts Dominican University on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 pm in the Rice Center.
