The Benedictine University women's volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Dominican University on Wednesday night in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action.

Dominican (20-8, 10-0 NACC) took an early 6-1 lead and never looked back, tallying 17 kills and just two errors for the 25-10 first set victory.

In the second set, the Stars took another early lead but Benedictine (7-20, 5-5 NACC) rallied back after a Kara Epping kill to come within five. Dominican pulled away on BenU unforced errors for the 25-14 win.

The Eagles kept up with the Stars in the third set, trailing by just three until DU went on a 5-0 run with two service aces and three BenU hitting errors. Benedictine could not come back, falling 25-17.



Dominican out-hit Benedictine 50-22 and tallied 45 digs compared to BenU's 27. The Eagles also had 10 reception errors.

Epping led the Eagles with 10 kills and two block assists while Andraia Leja had nine digs.

Benedictine is back in action this Saturday, October 25 when they host Rockford University for Senior Day at 11:00 a.m. in the Rice Center.
