Box Score 2 LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University softball team swept a pair of home non-conference games with North Park with wins of 5-4 and 6-0.
Game one saw both teams even at 3-3 after two innings. North Park scored in the top of the first and Benedictine put three on the board in the bottom of the inning.
Alex Daviera was the only player to drive home a run in the first, utilizing an RBI single. North Park tied the game with two in the second, but Benedictine put single runs on the board in the fifth and sixth and hung on for the win.
Chelsea White notched an RBI single in the fifth with
Holly Haberkorn lifting a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
Eryn Pondo earned the win with 5.1 innings of relief. White posted two hits as Benedictine picked up six in the win.
The second contest saw Benedictine race to a 3-0 lead after two.
Sarah Koch recorded an RBI single in the first while Daviera singled home one of two runs in the second. Haberkorn did the rest in the circle, striking out nine in the shutout and allowing just five hits. Benedictine totaled 12 hits in the contest. Haberkorn, Daviera, White, and
Kelly Mieszala each totaled two hits.
Benedictine (14-9) travels to Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday.
