LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University baseball team extended their win streak to five with a sweep of Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday, crossing over the .500 mark for the first time this season in improving to 7-1 in NACC play with wins of 4-1 and 10-4.

Chris Jordan, the 2013 conference pitcher of the year, returned to form in the opening contest. Jordan did not allow an earned run and carried a shutout into the eighth to improve to 2-1 on the year. The lefty allowed just six hits while walking one and striking out five.

Benedictine scored a single run in each of the first four innings to provide the support for Jordan. Tim Hendricks and Brandon Villanueva traded innings with RBI hits. Jozef Palasiewicz picked up the save by recording the final four outs. Tim Hendricks collected three hits out of the leadoff slot while Villanueva and Max Oppenheimer notched two apiece.

The second contest saw Benedictine rally from a three-run deficit, putting the game away with six runs in the eighth. Mike Irgang posted a solid showing on the mound. Irgang tossed 7.1 innings in a no-decision, allowing three earned runs on eight hits.

Benedictine rallied in the bottom of the fifth, grabbing a momentary 4-3 lead. The Eagles did not have a hit entering the frame but totaled five in the outburst. The first two batters of the inning were retired. Justin Kovalsky drove home the first two runs with a single. Ryan Mullin evened the game with an RBI single and Kevin Hendricks singled to right-center to put Benedictine in front.

Wisconsin Lutheran evened the score in the seventh, but the bullpen struggled in the eighth as Benedictine pulled away, sending 10 men to the plate. Brandon Clark put Benedictine ahead for good with a double as a pinch-hitter, driving home Kevin Hendricks. Mike Luschen delivered the big blow in the inning, a three-run homer against the strong wind.

Dylan Smith scored his first college win in relieft, tossing 1.2 innings. Benedictine smacked 13 hits. Kovalsky posted three out of the two hole, driving home three. Luschen and Kevin Hendricks also picked up a pair. Nine individuals including eight starters had at least one hit.

Benedictine (11-10, 7-1) puts the win streak on the line Tuesday night with a 6:00 p.m. non-conference contest against North Central.
