Box Score 2 MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Benedictine University softball team battled through the elements and salvaged a split at Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday, falling 9-5 in the opener before a 6-3 win in the second contest.
Game one saw Benedictine fail to hold a 4-2 advantage as Wisconsin Lutheran rallied with six runs in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off with the victory on a grand slam. The Eagles led for the first time by virtue of a three-run fifth and held the lead until the seventh. 
Sarah Koch notched an RBI single in the fifth and 
Kailee Cable added a two-run single.
Holly Haberkorn pitched the whole contest, taking the loss. Cable, Koch, and 
Kelly Mieszala all picked up two hits with Cable driving home three.
Melissa Guzior went the distance in the second contest as Benedictine rallied from down 3-0 early. The Eagles scored four in the fifth and added two in the sixth to put the game away. 
Chelsea White and 
Alex Daviera picked up RBI bunt singles in the fifth with Mieszala and Koch also driving home runs. 
Shannon Fritsche picked up an RBI double as part of the two-run sixth.
Fritsche, Mieszala, and 
Melissa Stoch posted two hits each as Benedictine amassed 12 in the contest to earn the split.
Benedictine (15-10, 7-5 NACC) hosts MSOE on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. weather permitting.
