Box Score AURORA, Ill. - The Benedictine University baseball team dropped a 6-4 decision to Aurora on Tuesday night.
Aurora scored six consecutive runs after
Kevin Hendricks put Benedictine ahead 1-0 in the first to take control of the contest. Two runs scored in the first, second, and fourth innings against starter
Nick Diessner. Following a single from T.J. Floyd in the fifth,
Tim Hendricks drilled his second homer of the season to slice into the deficit.
Brandon Villanueva doubled home a run in the eight but the Eagles were unable to place the tying run on base.
Diessner tossed 4.1 innings in the loss.
Spencer Lehmann pitched 2.2 scoreless innings with
Dylan Smith finishing out the game with a blank eighth. Benedictine managed just seven hits.
Tim Hendricks and Villanueva picked up two each.
The game was part of a postponed doubleheader on Sunday that was split into a pair of contests Tuesday and Wednesday. Baseball did announce the reschedule of a single game with Robert Morris for April 24.
Benedictine (11-11, 7-2) visits Aurora again on Wednesday.
