Box Score AURORA, Ill. - The Benedictine University baseball team rebounded by routing Aurora 11-1 on Wednesday night to split the two game series.
Benedictine fell behind early 1-0 but scored 11 unanswered to cruise to the rout. The Eagles scored a single run in four straight frames before a four-run sixth put the game out of reach. Benedictine hit three homers in the contest and lashed out 13 hits.
Mike Luschen tied the game with a solo homer in the top of the second.
Brandon Clark homered in the third to put Benedictine ahead for good. Clark also homered in the sixth, drilling a grand slam.
Clark posted two hits and drove home five.
Tim Hendricks,
Kevin Hendricks, and
Nick Fillmore also collected two hits apiece.
Ryan Rickert allowed just an unearned run in six innings, striking out nine.
James Rooks tossed two blank frames and
Alex Wolfe added another. Both games of the series were competed on Tuesday and Wednesday after Sunday's scheduled doubleheader was washed out.
Benedictine (12-11, 8-2) hosts Illinois Wesleyan in non-conference action on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m.
