Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Benedictine University softball team swept a doubleheader from Concordia Chicago on Friday to run their win streak to a season high seven games.

Benedictine led early in the opener but rallied late from down 5-3 to win 8-5 with five unanswered runs. Kelly Mieszala and Kailee Cable notched RBI singles in the top of the first inning to hand Benedictine the early lead. A two-run double from Chelsea White in the sixth enabled Benedictine to grab the lead for good. Tori Walczak added to the lead with a two-run single in the seventh to account for the final tally.

Seven individuals picked up hits in the contest. Mieszala finished with three. Eryn Pondo earned the win with 3.2 innings of relief in place of starter Melissa Guzior.

Holly Haberkorn threw a one-hitter in the second contest, a shortened five-inning affair that saw Benedictine post a 9-0 decision. Haberkorn, who threw a perfect game against Lakeland earlier this season, came within an out of another, surrendering a two-out single in the fifth. Haberkorn struck out five.

Five first inning runs provided all of the offense in game two. Mieszala opened the scoring just three batters into the contest with an RBI single. Sarah Koch made it 3-0 with a two-run single later in the frame. Alex Daviera and Haberkorn also picked up RBIs in the frame. Seven individuals also posted hits in the second contest with Erin Kotlarz picking up three. Koch drove home three runs with Haberkorn adding a pair.

The contests were the final road games of the regular season. Benedictine (26-11, 14-6) is currently tied for second in the NACC headed into the regular season finale on Saturday against Alverno at 12:00 p.m.
