Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - The Benedictine University baseball team improved to 5-1 in NACC play with a road sweep of Lakeland on Tuesday.

GAME ONE: BENEDICTINE 4, LAKELAND 0
Nick Diessner tossed a complete game three-hit shutout in the opener, striking out eight.

Benedictine opened the scoring in the top of the first with a single run, which proved to be more than enough for Diessner. Tim Hendricks jogged across the plate on a wild pitch with the game's first run. Two insurance runs scored in the seventh with another crossing in the eighth.

Seven different individuals posted hits in the opening contest with Tyler Floyd picking up a pair.

GAME TWO: BENEDICTINE 7, LAKELAND 2
Alex Wolfe did not allow an earned run in his first collegiate start, working 5.1 innings to win the second contest.

Benedictine plated two runs on just one hit in the third and added three in the fourth to take control of the game. NACC Position Player of the Week Ryan Mullin opened the scoring with an RBI single. The second run scored on an RBI fielder's choice from Kevin Hendricks. Floyd, Tim Hendricks, and Mullin all drove home runs in the fourth with Mullin and Hendricks posting RBI singles.

Lakeland clawed within 5-2 but single runs in the eighth and ninth put the game away. Jozef Palasiewicz worked 1.2 innings out of the bullpen with Tim Feeley tossing the final two frames. Mullin picked up three hits while driving home two. Tim Hendricks posted two hits and two RBIs. Brandon Clark notched two hits with Erik Callaghan scoring three runs.

Benedictine (8-10, 5-1) meets Elmhurst on Thursday night in a non-conference clash at home.
