MEQUON, Wis. - The Benedictine University baseball team saw the 2014 season come to an end with a 8-3 defeat at the hands of Concordia Wisconsin.

Concordia Wisconsin jumped on Benedictine in the second, scoring four times. The tournament hosts did not trail in the contest. Benedictine put one on the board in the bottom of the third. Kyle Bock walked and moved to third on consecutive wild pitches. Bock came across on a groundout from Ryan Mullin. Concordia Wisconsin chased starting pitcher Ryan Rickert from the game in the fourth, adding three more runs. Benedictine plated single runs in the fifth and ninth but couldn't pull within striking distance. Nicholas Fillmore logged an RBI single in the fifth and Matthew Higgs notched an RBI single in the ninth.

Nick Diessner worked five innings out of the bullpen, allowing just one run. Concordia Wisconsin amassed 15 hits. Kevin Hendricks led Benedictine with two hits.

Benedictine ends the year at 23-18 with a 1-2 showing in the tournament.
