Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Benedictine University volleyball team tallied 30 kills and 36 digs to defeat Blackburn College in their first match of the second day at Illinois Wesleyan University. The Eagles fell to Ohio Northern University in the second match.

Beckie Whitmarsh led the Eagles (2-8) offensively, tallying eight kills and just one error in the three-set sweep of Blackburn (25-19, 25-19, 25-21). Both Kristi Naylon, Erin Wiegand and Keriann Groen recorded six kills. Andraia Leja had 11 digs and four aces while Abby Screnock tallied 21 assists.

In the second match, the Eagles fell to ONU in three sets (10-25, 16-25, 23-25). Groen had six kills and two block assists while Whitmarsh had five kills. Defensively, Leja led the Eagles with 12 digs and Vanessa Possidoni was right behind her with 10 digs.

Benedictine will take on Wheaton College in their home opener on Thursday, September 11 starting at 7:00 pm at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex. Watch and listen live HERE.
