LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's volleyball team opened a busy weekend of conference action with a home sweep of Rockford.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine raced to a 7-2 lead in the opening set when Keriann Groen logged a kill
• Rockford clawed to within 23-20, but kills from Ashley Karsten and Kara Epping ended the first set
• Two early runs of five straight points in the second set put Benedictine in control
• An ace from Epping made the score 6-1 and an error enabled Benedictine to lead 11-2
• Benedictine also tallied five consecutive points to close out the second
• Rockford opened the third set strong, but Benedictine notched seven straight points to move ahead 11-6 on a kill from Erin Wiegand

STAT LEADERS
• Wiegand led all players with 10 kills while Epping added eight and Groen six on nine swings
• Kelcey Adams notched 29 assists with eight digs
• Kristina Billie added 14 digs with Alyssa O'Boyle adding 10
• Benedictine hit .262 for the match, tallying 14 kills in the first and third
