LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's lacrosse team opened their third season at home on Saturday afternoon, falling 24-4 to the University of Dubuque.
Gabby Rowe opened the scoring for Benedictine, handing the Eagles their only lead just over two minutes into the game. Dubuque responded by scoring 12 consecutive goals.
Samantha Link broke up the run with a goal late in the first half, but Benedictine trailed 14-2 at the break. Link scored twice more in the second half, finishing with three of the four goals.
Benedictine totaled 14 shots in the contest, seven of which came from Link.
Hannah Smith played the enitre contest in goal, making seven saves.
Benedictine (0-1) travels to Elmhurst on Wednesday night.
