The Benedictine University softball team wrapped up their spring break trip in Florida, defeating SUNY Geneseo 5-1 before their game against Stevenson University was cancelled due to rain.

Despite trailing 1-0 since the first inning, the Eagles tallied five runs in the 6th inning that included a grand slam from Melissa Stoch. Earlier in the inning, Sarah Koch, Kailee Cable and Holly Haberkorn all tallied hits before Stoch's grand slam to center field. That would be the only scoring in the game as the Eagles went on to win 5-1.

Stoch was 3-3 while Cable and and Koch each had two hits.

Melissa Guzior picked up the win for the Eagles, pitching a complete seven innings, allowing just four hits.

Benedictine returns home on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles host Beloit College for a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 24 starting at 3:00 pm.
