BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Benedictine University baseball team suffered a 5-0 non-conference defeat to Illinois Wesleyan, the leaders of the CCIW.
Benedictine managed just three hits in the game and used seven different pitchers. Illinois Wesleyan took the lead in the third inning with a single run and added four in the fourth to account for the final.
Dylan Smith started and tossed two scoreless frames with a walk. The final four pitchers of the game did not allow a run. 
Kamren Ackerman worked 1.1 frames, while 
Timothy Feeley, 
Alex Wolfe, and 
Christopher Nesbitt notched an inning each. Benedictine turned two double plays but had only two runners reach second base in the loss.
Benedictine (13-13) continues a busy week with another road non-conference game on Thursday, visiting Elmhurst.
