The Benedictine University women's volleyball team competed in the second day of the Aurora University Jim Coleman Memorial Tournament, falling to Wheaton College (Mass.) and University of Chicago.
The Eagles won the first two sets against Wheaton, 25-23, 25-22, before WC stormed back to take the next three sets (25-11, 25-21, 15-10).
Kara Epping led the team with nine kills while
Erin Wiegand and
Beckie Whitmarsh each tallied six kills. Wiegand also had 13 digs and
Kelcey Adams had 15 digs while also tallying 29 assists.
Kristina Billie led the team with 24 digs.
In the second match of the day, BenU fell in three sets to Chicago (20-25, 12-25, 14-25). Whitmarsh had a team high nine kills while Epping had seven. Adams had 12 assists, 13 digs and three aces.
BenU women's volleyball travels to Alverno College on Tuesday, September 15 for a 7:00 pm Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contest.
