AURORA, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's soccer team dropped a one-goal decision at Aurora University on Wednesday afternoon, falling 2-1.

• Aurora opened the scoring in just the second minute of the match, volleying home an attempted clear
• Nick Kapetanos tied the game just before the half, striking on a through ball from
Cristian Michalowski from 20-yards out following an offside
• The game-winner for Aurora came on a penalty kick early in the second half
• An attempt to tie in the closing moments from Michalowski sailed just wide
• The loss marked the first of the season in conference play for Benedictine, who have not beaten Aurora since 2008
• All six losses this season have come by a single goal
FROM THE COACH"Credit Aurora, they took us out of our game and fought harder than us," said head coach
Rich Nassif. "We cannot expect to be winners if we open up matches by allowing our opponents to score a goal in the first 90 seconds. I thought the second goal was a poor call by the referee but we put ourselves in that position and it cost us."
