Down 2-0, the Benedictine University women's volleyball team rallied back to defeat Wisconsin Lutheran College in five sets on Saturday night.

THE FINAL
Benedictine 3, Wisconsin Lutheran 2 (20-25, 17-25, 25-20, 25-14, 17-15)

THE DETAILS
• The Eagles trailed early in the first set and could never recover, allowing Wisconsin Lutheran to win on three straight kills
• Benedictine would only tally seven kills in the second set, trailing WLC the entire set
• Down 2-0 the Eagles took a 7-2 lead in the third but the Warriors would rally back to tie it at 18
• Keriann Groen would tally four straight serves and to give BenU a lead and a Claudia Schmidt kill would force a fourth set
• Benedictine used an 8-1 run late in the fourth, plus 12 kills and a .286 hitting percentage to force a fifth set
• The final set saw both teams battle but BenU held Wisconsin Lutheran to just five kills (-.029) while the Eagles recorded 10 kills, including the final two points from Taylor Dunwell and Emily Chitwood

THE STAT LEADERS
• Dunwell tied for a match high 18 kills with four block assists
• Chitwood and Erin Wiegand each had eight kills
• Groen recorded eight kills and eight block assists while Alyssa O'Boyle guided the offense with 22 assists with four aces and 16 digs
• Kristina Billie led all players with 32 digs

"I am so proud of our team," said head coach Jennifer Wildes. "We really took it up a notch after the second set. We knew we needed to play better and we did. It was great to see."

Women's volleyball, now 8-11 overall and 3-1 in NACC action hosts non-conference opponent North Park University on Wednesday, October 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Rice Center.
