Volleyball Wins Third Straight

The Benedictine University women's volleyball team won their third straight contest on Wednesday night, defeating North Park University in non-conference action.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine trailed early in the third set and could never recover, falling 25-19
• The Eagles used 14 kills to take the second set 25-20
• After trailing early in the third, BenU tied the match at 17 and took the lead on a Taylor Dunwell kill and never looked back, winning 25-20
• In the fourth set, both teams traded points – tied at 24, a Kristina Billie ace gave Benedictine the lead and a Dunwell kill secured the victory
 
STAT LEADERS
• As a team, Benedictine recorded 55 kills (.246 hitting percentage), 46 digs and five blocks
• Dunwell led all players with 18 kills
• Emily Chitwood and Keriann Groen combined for 17 kills while Erin Wiegand tallied seven kills
• Kara Epping had seven kills and two block assists
• Steering the offense, Alyssa O'Boyle and Kelcey Adams each had 26 assists
• Billie led all players with 17 digs and also had two aces

Benedictine women's volleyball, now 9-11, returns to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action on Friday night when they host Milwaukee School of Engineering at 7:00 p.m. in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.
