LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's volleyball team hosted the annual Eagle Classic, dropping a pair of matches to North Central and Loras on Saturday.

THE FINALS
Benedictine 1, North Central 3 (30-28, 24-26, 23-25, 20-25)
Benedictine 0, Loras 3 (19-25, 18-25, 21-25)

THE DETAILS VS. NCC
• The match was close from the get-go
• Keriann Groen and Erin Wiegand posted kills to open the match as Benedictine scored the first two points and led 5-1
• North Central led just once in the opening set, at 26-25, after fending off two set points
• Wiegand and Taylor Dunwell collected kills to close the first set
• North Central scored the first two points of the second but Benedictine quickly battled to tie the game
• Benedictine fended off three straight set points to tie the score at 24, but North Central notched the final two points to even the match
• The visitors scored the first six points of the third but Benedictine grabbed the lead on a kill from Dunwell
• Benedictine nearly tied the match, scoring three straight against set point before the finish
• North Central led the entire fourth to finish out the victory

THE DETAILS VS. LORAS
• Benedictine did not lead in the opening set
• After falling behind 2-0, Schmidt tied the game at 8-8 with an ace and later the score was even at 10-10
• Loras ripped off six straight and closed out the first set
• Benedictine scored five straight points early in the second, opening a 6-3 lead on a Dunwell kill
• Loras countered with six straight and did not trail again
• Benedictine led for the first half of the third, but in a 17-17 contest, Loras netted five straight to pull away
