NORTH MANCHESTER, IN - The Benedictine University women's basketball team moved to 3-0 on the season by winning the Manchester Tournament at the buzzer.

• Venita Parsons splashed home the game-winner as time expired to cap a wild game that featured 13 ties and 13 lead changes
• The first quarter saw neither team lead by more than three points
• Bennita Drain drained a jumper with 33 seconds left to hand Benedictine a 19-18 lead
• Benedictine did not trail in the second quarter, opening a four-point lead on a triple from
Roxanna Gaddis with 1:43 to play in the half
• Manchester scored the final four points to tie the game at the break
• An even third quarter saw Benedictine score six straight to take a 44-38 lead on a three-point play from
Samantha McCarthy
• McCarthy connected on a three-pointer midway through the fourth to give Benedictine a 55-48 lead, largest of the game
• Manchester was twice able to tie the game in the final minute before Parsons delivered

"Venita (Parsons) has been a rock for our team through three games and to see her come through in the clutch was great for our team," head coach
Charlie Averkamp said. "She put in a lot of work this offseason and it is paying off.
Alena Moro was dominant on the boards again and Bennita (Drain) and Sammie (McCarthy) were huge in the second half. It was a great weekend with two wins, but also great to get closer as a team."
