LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's basketball team lost for the first time this season on Tuesday night, falling in the home opener to visiting North Central College.

• North Central plays a women's version of 'The System', and up-tempo game that features full court press, line changes, quick shots, and lots of three-pointers
• Benedictine jumped out of the gates, vaulting to a lead of 8-2
• Alena Moro dropped in a layup with 7:46 left in the first quarter to make the score 8-2
• North Central came back to even the contest at 10-10 and led for the first time at 15-14 with 4:58 to go in the first
• The visitors scored five straight at one point, building a 23-16 edge and led 24-21 after the first

• A three-pointer handed North Central a 42-35 lead but a 7-0 run evened the game before North Central pulled ahead late in the half, leading 53-48 at the break
• Benedictine scored the first eight points of the third to open a 56-53 edge; Williams and Moro each scored four during the stretch
• 19 consecutive points scored for North Central, taking control with a 72-56 lead at the 2:59 marker of the third
• Moro converted on a layup with 6:59 left to whittle the deficit down to 82-77, but Benedictine could pull no closer

• North Central scored 48 points off of 38 turnovers
• Benedictine tallied 68 points in the paint and held a 71-48 advantage on the glass
• The contest saw six ties and five lead changes
• Moro poured in a career high 24 points, making 12 field goals
• Moro also added 14 rebounds and has become one of the top rebounders in the conference
