LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's soccer team is bound for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1993 after winning the program's first NACC Tournament Championship with a 3-0 blanking of sixth-seeded Wisconsin Lutheran College before a boisterous crowd.

THE DETAILS
• Wisconsin Lutheran had scored back-to-back decisions on the road as the lowest seeded team in the tournament
• The visitors came out early before Benedictine began to turn the momentum
• Erik Stammer opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, picking up a deflection of a free kick and firing home a shot high over the keeper from 15 yards out
• The goal marked the ninth of the year for the second team all-conference performer
• Just seven minutes later Stammer was involved again, pushing a pass through the defense to enable
Nick Kapetanos to extend the advantage

• Pedro Parra fired home a deflection in the 50th minute for the final tally of the day with his second strike of the year

• Benedictine held a 19-8 advantage in shots, dictating the second half tempo
• Antonio Marti-Polo recorded three saves in goal, helping the defense to a ninth shutout
