Women's Hoops Claims Senior Day Win

LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team closed out the home portion of the schedule by officially clinching a slot in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament with a senior day win over Edgewood College.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine did not trail in the contest, scoring the game's first nine points, lastly on a Raven Willis jumper with 4:34 remaining
• Edgewood ripped off nine straight points to tie the score with 1:20 left in the opening quarter
• Leading 12-11 following the first, Benedictine tallied four straight points to lead 16-11 with 8:30 left in the first half
• Benedictine led by eight in the second quarter and held a 28-21 edge at the break
• Two free throws from Alanna Ferry with 2:05 remaining in the third quarter extended the lead to double figures at 41-31
• The lead reached 13 points early in the fourth at 52-39 following a jumper from Ferry
• The visitors whittled the margin down to just four points at 56-52 with 2:20 to play following a 7-0 run but could pull no closer

STAT LEADERS
• Raven Willis led Benedictine with 15 points off the bench
• Ferry added 14 points with seven assists
• Jasma Williams netted 12 in a reserve role
• Nicole Botich scored only four points but grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds
• Benedictine held a 44-36 edge on the glass and limited Edgewood to just 33.3 percent shooting
